Working Principle

The flotation machine mainly consists of three parts, namely the pressure dissolved air system (including water pump, air compressor, pressure dissolved air tank and other auxiliary equipment), the dissolved air release system and the flotation separation system.

After the compressed air enters the container, it quickly dissolves in the water, saturating oxygen and other gases. After reducing the pressure, the supersaturated gas precipitates in the form of tiny bubbles. The bubbles absorb the suspended pollutants in the wastewater through physical adsorption and chemical reactions, and slowly rise to the water surface under the action of buoyancy to form foam. The foam can be collected and discharged out of the system by scrapers, skimmers, etc., while the purified water flows out from the bottom to achieve solid-liquid/liquid-liquid separation.

Precautions for operation of flotation machine

(1) Influent water volume: A flow meter should be installed at the water inlet of the flotation machine to control the reagent ratio and influent load.
(2) Influent pH: The pH of the sewage entering the flotation system needs to be controlled at 7-8. A pH that is too low will affect the flocculant's flocculant effect; a pH that is too high will not only cost operating costs, but also affect the operation of the back-end biochemical unit.
(3) Agent selection: It is recommended to select solid PAC with a content of 26%, or liquid PAC with a content of 10%; select liquid caustic soda or flake caustic soda with a content of 30%; select PAM with a content of 1-1.5‰.
(4) Dissolved gas pressure: When the pressure is 0.4~0.5Mpa, a large number of dense microbubble groups will be formed, and the flotation effect is the best.
(5) Releaser selection: It is recommended to use a TV type releaser, which can overcome problems such as uneven water distribution and pipe blockage.
(6) Others: It is recommended to drain mud regularly to avoid high suspended solids in the outlet water. It should be noted that the scraper plate liquid level should match the water output of the outlet valve.
