Working Principle

The high-efficiency sedimentation tank is divided into two modules: flocculation and sedimentation.

After adding flocculants into the flocculation tank, the turbine agitator in the tank stirs at multiple circulation rates, and the suspended solids in the water are fully sheared, thereby forming large flocs that are easy to settle.

The sedimentation tank is divided into a pre-sedimentation zone and an inclined tube sedimentation zone by a partition. In the pre-sedimentation zone, large and heavy flocs settle quickly, while small and light flocs are finely captured by the inclined tube. The effluent after the final reaction is uniformly collected and discharged through the water collection tank.

Inclined tube sedimentation technology extends HRT and significantly improves surface load capacity. Its sedimentation efficiency is 8 to 10 times that of ordinary sedimentation tanks.

Currently, the conventional processes of high-efficiency sedimentation tanks mainly include flocculation sedimentation, concentrated sedimentation, magnetic flocculation, pulse clarification, etc. The materials can be carbon steel anti-corrosion, stainless steel, carbon steel anti-corrosion fiberglass lining, etc.
Reasons for sludge floating

(1) The sludge stays in the pool for too long, and the gas produced by anaerobic fermentation adheres to the sludge flocs, which causes the sludge to float. At this time, the sludge retention time and sludge discharge frequency should be adjusted in time to avoid sludge accumulation in the pool.
(2) Sudden changes in influent water quality. For example, excessively high organic matter concentration changes the sludge properties, deteriorates the sedimentation performance, and causes the sludge to float. Strengthen the monitoring and control of influent water quality, adjust the amount of coagulant added, increase the pretreatment process, etc., to stabilize the sludge properties.
