Working Principle

The SNCR system is mainly composed of an ammonia unloading system, a tank area, a pressure pump and its control system, a mixing system, a distribution and regulation system, a spray system, etc. The reducing agent in the tank is transported to the nozzle through a pump and a pipeline and is atomized into fine droplets. The atomized reducing agent is then evenly sprayed into the high-temperature area in the flue gas, where it is rapidly pyrolyzed under high temperature conditions (such as urea being decomposed into NH₃), and selectively mixed with NOx in the flue gas to achieve the purpose of removing NOx.

The SNCR device does not require expensive catalysts, has low investment costs, and has low system energy consumption. The equipment is simple, occupies a small area, and adopts a modular design that can be flexibly placed.

Investment economy
The device can effectively avoid problems such as catalyst blockage and corrosion. There is no additional pressure loss when using the device, and it does not increase the resistance of the flue gas system.

Simple system maintenance
The reducing agent (such as urea or ammonia water) can be flexibly selected. The reaction temperature of the device is 850℃-1100℃, which is suitable for high-temperature environments such as circulating fluidized bed boilers and cement kilns.

Technical adaptability
The reaction products of this device are only N₂ and H₂O, without harmful by-products. The amount of ammonia sprayed can be optimized through an intelligent control system, and the escape concentration can be controlled at 5-10ppm.

Coal-fired boilers

In large coal-fired boilers in thermal power plants, SNCR technology can be used to control the emission of nitrogen oxides.

Biomass boilers

SNCR devices are suitable for NOx generated during the combustion process of boilers using biomass as fuel.

Glass kilns

SNCR devices can be used for NOx generated by kiln combustion during glass manufacturing.

Waste incinerators

SNCR devices can effectively reduce the NOx content in the exhaust gas emitted by waste incinerators, so that the emissions meet environmental protection requirements.

In the cement production process, rotary kilns are the main source of NOx generation. SNCR devices can be used for denitrification of rotary kilns in cement plants.

Causes and solutions for excessive ammonia escape rate

(1) Excessive reducing agent: According to the NOx concentration and denitrification efficiency requirements, it is recommended to accurately control the amount of reducing agent to avoid excessive injection;
(2) The reaction temperature is too low: It is recommended to increase the reaction temperature in time to ensure that the reaction is fully carried out;
(3) Unreasonable setting of the spray gun position: The reducing agent fails to fully react with NOx in the appropriate temperature range. At this time, the position of the spray gun should be re-evaluated to put it in the optimal reaction temperature range and optimize the injection parameters.
Causes and solutions for scaling in the reaction area

(1) Side reactions: Some components in the reducing agent react to generate solid impurities, which adhere to the wall surface of the reaction area. It is recommended to optimize the formula of the reducing agent to reduce the generation of scaling substances;
(2) Impurity accumulation: Impurities such as dust in the flue gas accumulate in the reaction area and cause scaling. The reaction area needs to be cleaned regularly, or anti-scaling measures need to be set up in the reaction area, such as installing anti-scaling coatings.
How to reduce ammonia escape

(1) Optimize ammonia injection operation: adjust the AIG valve opening to make NH₃/NOx evenly distributed;
(2) Intelligent control optimization: adopt feedforward + feedback control, and predict ammonia injection demand in combination with unit load; introduce AI algorithm to dynamically adjust ammonia injection amount to reduce lag effect; set a reasonable ammonia escape limit.
