A decanter is a device that excludes clarified water regularly.It is mainly used in SBR process and is one of its most critical mechanical equipment.It can decant clarified water from the static pool surface without interfering with sedimentation, ensuring the clarity and stability of the effluent water quality. There are four main types of decanters: siphon type, rotary type, self-floating type, and mechanical type.

The decanter is mainly composed of a water collection tank, a buoy-type slag baffle, a branch pipe, a main pipe, a support, a rotary seal support, a power device (electric or hydraulic actuator) and its control system.
Before the equipment circulates,the decanter will stay at the high water level in the pool as the starting point; when drainage is required, the control system sends a signal command to the power unit,the push rod extends forward evenly and moves along the required trajectory, the water collection tank of the decanter moves down at the set speed to complete the uniform decanting;when the water is drained to the low point of the water level, the downward limit switch of the push rod gives a signal, the motor reverses to pull the water collection tank upward, returns to the starting position, and waits for the completion of the next cycle.

Before installing the equipment, check whether the size marked on the drawing is consistent with the size of the pre-embedded in each part of the reaction pool to ensure smooth installation.
Install the main pipe, support frame and bellows.The main pipe needs to be installed horizontally, and the distance between the two end centres and the wall must be uniform.The support frame is welded with pre-buried steel plate or connected to the pool wall according to the design type.The bellows should be connected with each other through bolts.
Install the connecting rod and the water outlet pipe. Weld one end of the connecting rod with the lugs to the decanter beam; when installing the water outlet pipe, the water outlet pipe column should be cut according to the site conditions and welded to the embedded steel plate
Install the electric control cabinet and pipelines. Fix the electrical control cabinet on the railing near the push rod, and finally connect the solenoid valve and gas pipe.
FAQs
The decanter does not discharge water or discharges little water.
(1) Check the float failure. If the float is damaged or falls off, the decanter will not be able to drain the upper layer of clean water normally as the water level drops; (2) Check the motor or line failure. If the electrode or line is damaged, the decanter will not work properly.
The decanter does not drain completely.
(1) Due to the blockage of the water collection tank or drainage pipe, the decanter cannot completely drain the upper layer of clean water. It is recommended to regularly clean the blockage in the water collection tank and drainage pipe; (2) Due to the unreasonable setting of the decanter decanting depth, some clean water is not discharged.The user needs to adjust the decanting depth according to the actual situation.
