RTO(Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer)

RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer) is a highly efficient organic waste gas treatment equipment, mainly used for concentrated medium and high concentration VOCs treatment. Working Principle

The basic principle of RTO is high-temperature oxidation and heat storage recovery.After the exhaust gas is preheated to the reaction temperature by the heat storage body, it enters the combustion chamber to fully undergo thermal oxidation reaction to generate CO2 and H2O.The waste gas after high temperature oxidation then flows through the ceramic heat storage body, so that the heat storage layer recovers heat to preheat the subsequent waste gas, and finally reaches the standard emission through the chimney.

Pharmaceutical industry

The waste gas in the pharmaceutical industry contains toxic substances such as methanol, acetone, and dichloromethane, which are intermittent and corrosive.

Coating industry

Mainly used to treat large air volume and medium-to-high concentration waste gas (toluene, xylene, ethyl acetate, etc.) generated in the spraying and drying process.

Printing industry

Ink and cleaning agents will produce volatile high-concentration benzene and ester waste gas during the printing process. The waste gas emission in this industry is large and continuous.

Petrochemical industry

Applicable to the treatment of VOCs such as benzene, ketones, and esters in industrial production. The concentration of such waste gas fluctuates widely.

FAQs

How to avoid equipment corrosion

When the waste gas contains acidic gases (HCl, SO₂), halogen compounds or condensate, it will cause equipment corrosion. Therefore, when selecting materials, corrosion-resistant materials (such as 316L stainless steel) or special anti-corrosion coatings (such as ZS-1041 flue gas anti-corrosion coatings) should be selected. At the same time, the humidity of the waste gas should be controlled to avoid condensation in low-temperature areas.
How to prevent explosion risks

(1) The waste gas concentration should be controlled below 25% of the lower explosion limit (LEL), and an online concentration monitor should be installed;
(2) Flame arresters, explosion vents and emergency discharge valves should be added to ensure that the system operates at a slight negative pressure.
Reasons and solutions for decreased treatment efficiency

(1) Low performance of heat storage body: The heat storage body needs to be cleaned or replaced regularly to ensure that the heat recovery efficiency is ≥90%;
(2) Complex exhaust gas composition: Complex composition increases the difficulty of oxidation. Particulate matter and high-boiling organic matter can be removed through pretreatment;
(3) Exhaust gas flow rate is too high: When the exhaust gas flow rate is too large, the residence time will be shortened, causing blockage or reducing heat conduction performance. It is recommended to adjust the oxidation temperature (800℃-950℃) and residence time (≥0.5 seconds).
